Come September..

hi,

the title must have made you think about the famous movie from the 60's. just for fun google on "come september" and wikipedia gives you the info - Come September is a 1961 romantic comedy film directed by Robert Mulligan, and starring Rock Hudson, Gina Lollobrigida, Sandra Dee and Bobby Darin.

Now our "Come September" is a 2010 remake of the 60's hit. this plot revolves around a practicing CA's life. just a small change - we'll remove the romance out. comedy can still be there at times... And for the characters... we have the CA in the lead role. working against all odds, all day and all night... spends sleepless nights to achieve his goals... always spoken badly of by his clients.

As of now, the movie is being made. perfect shots are under progress (Audits underway). the most difficult scenes to shoot are being planned (XML conversion of ITR), climax fight sequence being thought of (uploading ITR), editing of fight sequences already shot (destroying waste query sheets). all this to achieve those deadlines which are not deadlines for a CA...!! ohh shit.. we forgot some characters.. God knows where the auditees / clients have gone.. anyway, they are the characters in a special role (only for signatures). dont be surprised if they turn up late for the shooting. We have to accommodate them.. but nonetheless, we'll make a mention of them in the credits section.

And after the movie is finally released, the characters wait for their pay cheques as do the real movie stars... the only difference is that the last two zeros in the film stars' cheques become the first two zeros in the pay cheque our our poor heroes..

post September, another movie would commence shooting - Fahrenheit 30/09....

till then, happy shooting...

Oh Fu**, I m rejected....

Well....

with immense grief and sorrow, I declare that I have not been selected for the Mumbai Marathon 2011. Shit... that is so pathetic. the feeling of rejection somehow does not sink in still. after running continuously for 5 years, these so called selectors, reject an ardent runner.... e-mails fly around after the ballot, but no respite. no selections yet. they say you ran (walked) for more than 3 hours. so cant select you.. that was the selection criteria. i said WTF... Never declared such a criteria in the past. what i see is now a clear commercialisation of the SCMM. forget half marathon, my friends say, participate in the dream run... i say - "NO. its the determination, perseverance that keeps you going in the 21kms run. and you want me to dream for 6.5 kms...??"

but the question still remains - what next?? there's still some chance... some cheating... anyway, no one can prevent anyone from running in the streets of Mumbai. be it any day... just what you need is the marathon running number.. that can be managed... i have very lovely friends who can just do the needful. please guys, think of some bright idea. help me join you in the SCMM 2011....

Enter + Space + Shift + Home...

guys...

first and foremost, an open confession - even as predecided, couldnt write a blog a day. but nevertheless, there are reasons for that. Now coming to the title of this post. You must be wondering, now what is this guy upto?

Wait, lemme explain. This entire week has been quite of a "Mover" for me and others at office. The reason - we are moving to a new, big place in Mahim itself. Things to be moved from old office to new office have been all through our minds, hands, shoulders. thankfully our heads have yet been spared. Leave aside the things to be carried, there is so much to be thrown away - waste papers, files, electric equipment... ooof..!! we had built up a junkyard all these years. Now all that is coming out and pricking us in the eye... cant wait to see everything sold off in raddi and we hope to build a fortune out of the proceeds. then there are files to be sent to back storage (thats what the partners say, but dont really know where that is located..)

Now in the new office. The things that we mercilessly removed from the old place are to be rearranged carefully and beautifully in the new place. Hell of a task. but no respite, has to be done. Check the connections, check the telephones, check the printers - God.. thats bad..

But the horryfying task is yet to commence - remembering all the new things. New cupboards, new cabins, new seating place, new telephone numbers, new address. but thankfully, the people are the same.

So hopefully you have understood the meaning of the title.
"Enter" the new place, Find some "Space", "Shift" the files and go "Home" after a tiring day...

Sorryfully, cant "Esc" this situation, someone please F1...

Hope to write soon without a "Pause" or getting "Del"...

A Reminiscence...

guys...

something amazing flashed across my mind this morning - the feeling of appearing for CA exams once again. now naturally one would ask, why such a dangerous feeling now? and that too 3 years after clearing CA final and 2 years after becoming an Associate Chartered Accountant.

This morning most of my young colleagues had come to office to take signatures of their principals (deemed God) on their exam forms, an absolutely necessary formality that will finalise their appearance in the forthcoming exam. There also was this absolutely necessary and regular feature of MDR asking for some "favours" to sign the forms and finally the always effervescent MDR giving away chocolates himself to all the kids. A special part of the entire "event" was that two of them took my signature on their forms.

3 years have cheerfully passed since I cleared my CA final. However such memories are etched forever in ones mind. I could feel every moment with the kids today. Feelings of joy and nervousness cluttered my mind together. Joy because I could see the kids growing, coming one step closer to becoming a CA and nervous because as they filled the forms, the feeling that the exam was closing in filled in... Only a CA can understand the tensions of the leave period.

As you all come closer to the exam, keep your determination to the peak. Study hard because success comes only by hard work. Keep your mind fresh and active. Any difficulty contact your seniors / friends.

Best of luck guys... Success will be all yours.

The addiction called Facebook...

guys...
as i sit to write this blog, i am worried... 5-10 mins of chatting / playing / roaming / surfing /doing nothing on facebook will go up in ashes....!!! Nooooo... I cant think about it also.

I am constantly worried... My crops will wither in farmville, who will feed my chickens. What to do, where to search for a collectable...?? oh my god, I am an addict!!! (while writing just these 5 lines, i have already pressed Alt+Tab 22 times...) I know nothing productive in it, but still I have to visit FB atleast once a day. I cant live without it.

Shittttt... somehow I have started feeling very very ill, just like an addict who has been kept away from his source of addiction. I cant see, typew propoehrly, I dnt knoe wht i mn mwriituing.. i thiunk oi will fainint... OH GOD... that little Alt+Tab really saved me this time. Gosh, I just realised addicts often die of their addiction, but also just experienced (Alt+Tab) that addicts die if kept away from the (Alt+Tab) source of addiction too.

So no more shitty, crappy posts on this blog. Logging on to facebook, I have to save a life... my own.. (Alt+Tab)

A blast again....

Again the same photos on news channels, same news in the newspapers today. "Terror hits Pune" was being shown everywhere. the good old city of Pune was bombed by some stupid idiotic bastards. somehow the chronology seems to be mind boggling. just have a look at this

Attack on Parliament - 13th December 2001.
Blasts near Gateway - 25th August 2003.
Blasts in Mumbai trains - 11th July 2006
Blast in Hyderabad - 25th August 2007.
Blast in Jaipur - 13th May 2008.
Blast in Bangalore - 25th July 2008.
Blast in Ahmedabad - 26th July 2008.
Blasts in Delhi - 13th September 2008.
Terror attacks in Mumbai - 26th November 2008.
Blast in Pune - 13th February 2010.

though this list is by no means exhaustive, it raises some questions. why are the dates always 13th or 26th. are these days specially chosen? think guys... just do a simple google search on blasts in india and the list will go on...

seems to me that somehow we have got accustomed to such incidents. All that is said later is we are investigating, people should show courage and solidarity. even though we have enough evidence against our friendly neighbour, we never fight back. was the attack on the parliament or the 26/11 in mumbai anyway less than a war?? for 4 days, we all were living with our lives on fire. but still we dont know whether war is the only option... but surely we can boycott them in all other ways. No cross-border dialogue is required. we are ourselves to blame if we continue to expect fruitful dialogue even though hundreds of our innocent people are killed everyday. on a strictly personal note - we must stop all exchange between India and Pakistan. aman ki aasha is a crap. we will simply burn some candles and return home and thts the end of the story. another bomb blast and few more candles will be burnt, homages will be paid and everything will be forgotten until another blast occurs.

just think abt it guys - what do we want?? real peace for our future generations or simply a never ending hope for peace (aman ki aasha). if peace is what we want, then its time to act. show the enemy what we can do. is our military power only to be displayed on 15/08 or 26/01. Has the time come to use it and vanquish the enemy?

Peace is something that comes for a cost,
Act India act, before all is lost...

I am waiting for your comments. scratch your heads guys...

My name is.....????

The blanks in the title might seem quite obvious. But beware... look to your left, look to your right, look up, if possible look down too. if you see any S***Sai***... (the stars are obvious too) simply keep your mouth shut. Thts wht probably some insane people thought they would achieve today. But to their utter disgrace, people flocked and flocked again to watch the much awaited and hyped "My name is KHAN". No doubt the movie got its much required attention and the film stars their part of the moolah...

It seems that the love of the star studded party referred above for their very dear "Marathi manoos" has withered off. Or it is now the domain of the other brother. but not to worry, our dear ones are never short of issues (issues created out of non-issues). Just two days more to go. Valentines day is a big occassion for them to celebrate their so called love for our tradition. once again they can go on a rampage in the city. Sometimes I really wonder that love for tradition is only the prerogative of these guys. Just to give them a suggestion - Why dont you guys try wearing a dhoti-kurta, pagdi in your everyday life?? thts a part of our tradition, isnt it? I Really pity the young guys in their families.

Nevertheless, why to waste writing space for stupid posts. now that the movie has released lets join the entire "KHAN"daan and have some entertainment...

Just to share a lighter moment - I got this sms yesterday - "BREAKING NEWS - the controversy over the movie MNIK has ended. It will be renamed... now it will be called "My name is Khandekar"...!!! haha..
